Product Description

The Golden Era of Stratocaster Tone - Captured in Every Note

When Leo Fender perfected the Stratocaster design in the early 1960s, he created something truly magical. The 1963 Strat Pickup captures that exact moment in guitar history when everything came together perfectly - the sweet spot between the experimental 1950s and the mass-production changes that followed. This is the sound that defined a generation of guitar heroes.

The Brickhouse 1963 Strat pickups beautifully recreates those iconic vintage Strat tones that defined an era of big Stratocaster sounds we all cherish and love. Rather than just copying a random vintage spec, we focused more on refining string and output balance from one pickup to the next, and devoting much more attention to bringing out the articulation and touch sensitivity heard on the best examples made in 1963. Consistency is key!

Whether you're chasing those glassy clean tones that made surf music legendary, or pushing into the sweet overdrive that launched blues-rock into the stratosphere, the 1963 Strat Pickup responds with the musical intelligence and dynamic range that separated the great Stratocasters from the merely good ones. This is the pickup that will make your Strat sing with authentic vintage authority.

Details That Matter:
The middle pickups are RWRP (Reverse Wound Reverse Polarity) so that you can achieve hum-canceling in positions 2 and 4 of a 5-way switch. This is a modern advantage that comes standard with all of our single coils. Also, unlike vintage strat pickups, the magnet stagger is refined and calibrated to offer a more perfect balance in output from one string to the next.

Notes About Magnet Stagger:
The polepiece/magnets are fixed in height and cannot be adjusted. Choose Right Handed for a right handed magnet stagger and choose Left Handed for a left handed magnet stagger. Each magnet is set to a specific height in order to respond evenly in output from one string to the next when using standard electric guitar strings with a plain unwound 3rd string.
