.047uf/200v K40Y-9 - Vintage Russian - Paper in Oil
Vintage K40Y-9 Soviet Military Paper in Oil (PIO) capacitor, .047uF 200V. The K40Y-9 are high quality capacitors made for Russian military. The conductor is made of aluminum foil and the dielectric is oil saturated paper. Comparable in construction to the Sprague Vitamin Q's, hermetically sealed in a metal body with glass ends. These capacitors provide excellent sonic characteristics, and a high tolerance within a wide temperature range. These will work in Fender Strats and Tele's as well as in a Les Paul, or Les Paul style guitar to boost the bridge pickup. Great way to improve the tone of your guitar, or for use in other audio applications.

Major improvement - minor bucks!
I recently replaced the two caps in my Fender Strat with two Vintage Russian - Paper in Oil caps. The word "WOW' is a very apt description of the change they made. I cannot think of one other single thing -- and certainly not considering the ridiculously low cost -- that could result in such a positive improvement on the tone on my instrument. Bill (the owner) was very patient and thorough about answering all (and I had several) questions, and the shipping was very fast. Highly recommended!
