The Pure Tone jack is the new standard in 1/4 inch jacks, it will make your guitar sound like it is soldered into your amps circuit! The Pure Tone jack’s patented design contains dual tension grounds and dual positive tips for optimal signal and lowest possible noise. Audio quality is maximized by the extra contact, and the extra tip connection pinches the plug tightly so there is virtually no connection noise; as a result high and low frequencies are greatly improved creating a much more balanced sound while eliminating frequency spikes. Most importantly, the Pure Tone Jack eliminates the infamous “crackle” noise caused by pressure grounds. (A standard 1/4 inch jack uses a pressure ground and a single hot positive connection; as actual grounds are not connected to the sleeve, the pressure of the tip dictates how good the ground is, resulting in inferior sound quality i.e., that static sound). When inserted into this jack your cable is held very firm, great for messy studios and live gigs where it is always possible to get your cable yanked.The jack also allows for increased current handling at 500 volts for high current applications.
Save yourself a trip to the hardware store. Other Pure Tone jacks come with only one hex, which causes the jack to jut out from the jack plate and body of the guitar.
